A recent post from the Prime Minister’s Office on X, formerly Twitter, has sparked discussion online. The debate centres on the English translation used in the post.
On March 12, 2026, the PMO account shared two images featuring a quote by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The quote appeared in both Hindi and English versions.
The Hindi text stated that India is not only moving forward but is also preparing to reach the next level. The post said the statement was delivered by the Prime Minister at the NXT Summit.
However, the discussion online focused mainly on the English translation. The sentence read, “India is not just progressing. India is moving to the next.”
Many social media users pointed out that the sentence appeared incomplete. Several comments suggested that the translation looked like it may have been generated using an AI tool.
Users also noted that the same line appeared again in the caption of the post. According to critics, the wording remained unchanged and the phrasing was not corrected before publication.
This triggered a wider debate about the use of AI in communication. Some users argued that official government accounts should carefully review content before sharing it with millions of followers.
A few commenters linked the issue to broader concerns about language accuracy and education standards. They questioned how such errors could appear on official platforms.
Others suggested the incident may reflect growing reliance on automated tools. According to them, AI outputs sometimes require careful human editing before being published.
At the same time, some people defended the PMO account. They argued that the issue involved only a single post and may have been a simple oversight.
Supporters also said the office likely manages more critical responsibilities. In their view, minor errors on social media should not automatically turn into major controversies.
The post continues to circulate online as users debate whether the translation error reflects over reliance on AI or simply a routine mistake.
