Minor Sex Case Against OTT’s Most Vulgar Show!

Producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor have been accused under the POCSO Act following a complaint that claims they filmed objectionable scenes featuring a minor girl in their erotic series, Gandi Baat. The OTT series has had six seasons so far.

The complaint was filed against the producers of the OTT platform ALT Balaji, citing explicit scenes of minor girls in an episode from Season 6, which streamed between February and April 2021.

However, this controversial episode is not currently available for streaming on the app.

The complaint alleges that the series used cigarette advertisements while disrespecting revered figures and saints, causing emotional distress to the complainant.

It also states that certain scenes violated POCSO Act regulations.

The complaint indicates that the content likely breaches various laws, including the Information Technology Act 2000, the Women Prohibition Act 1986, and the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act 2003.

On September 27, 2024, the Supreme Court declared that watching, publishing, or downloading obscene content involving children is a crime, rejecting a previous ruling from the Madras High Court, which had stated that such activities could not be classified as a crime.

Gandi Baat, known for its bold scenes, has released six seasons since its debut in 2018, directed by Sachin Mohite.

The police are currently investigating the matter, but Alt Balaji Telefilm has not issued a statement yet.
