A shocking incident from Srikakulam district has sparked outrage after a video showed a teacher, identified as Sujatha from Bandapalli Girls’ Tribal Ashram School, talking on her phone while two students massaged her legs. The clip spread quickly across social media, drawing widespread criticism.
An internal inquiry led by Sithampet ITDA Project Officer Pawar Swapnil Jagannath confirmed the misconduct, and suspension orders were issued against Sujatha on Tuesday. The action followed growing anger over the teacher’s behaviour and concern for the dignity of the students involved.
Such behaviour damages the trust that students and parents place in schools, especially in rural and tribal areas where children already face barriers to education. Teachers hold a moral duty to guide students with fairness, compassion, and respect.
