Viral Video: Doctor’s Deadly Cure for Child’s Cold

A distrubing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district has gone viral, showing a government doctor making a child smoke a cigarette under the claim of treating cold and cough. The video, which is now circulating widely on social media, has shocked viewers and led to swift action from the authorities.

In the video, the doctor, identified as Dr. Suresh Chandra, is seen lighting a cigarette and handing it to a 4-year-old child. He then instructs the child on how to inhale the smoke, repeatedly telling him to “pull, pull more.” The incident reportedly took place around 15 days ago at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kuthaund, where Dr. Chandra was posted.

According to reports, the child had visited the hospital with his parents, who had briefly left him near the doctor. Upon hearing the child had a cough, Dr. Chandra allegedly offered him a cigarette, claiming it would help relieve his symptoms. Witnesses say the doctor appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time.

The shocking act was secretly filmed by a bystander using a mobile phone. Once the video went viral, it drew widespread condemnation. In response, Chief Medical Officer N.D. Sharma transferred the doctor and submitted a report to the administration. The ACMO has also been directed to investigate the incident and take strict action against Dr. Chandra.

Police have launched an inquiry based on the video evidence. The public and health officials alike have called for strict punishment, calling the act not only unethical but deeply harmful.
