A shocking incident at a railway station has once again exposed the sheer irresponsibility of certain pet owners. A viral video shows a man recklessly dragging his dog while trying to board a moving train.
In his desperate attempt to make it onto the train, he completely disregarded the safety of his pet, which ended up falling onto the tracks. Spectators watched in horror as the train passed over the helpless animal.
Miraculously, the dog survived, but this recklessness could have easily resulted in its death.
Social media erupted in outrage, with many users slamming the owner for his carelessness. “Keep this person away from pets,” one user wrote, while another insisted he should be jailed.
Yet, shockingly, some people defended his actions, arguing that it was an “honest mistake.” However, there is no excuse for such blatant negligence. If someone is incapable of ensuring their pet’s safety, they have no business owning one.
This disturbing event highlights a much larger issue. That is, many pet owners treat animals as accessories rather than living beings that require proper care.
Public spaces are not playgrounds for irresponsible pet owners who fail to consider the dangers their animals might face. A pet is not a piece of luggage to be dragged onto a train at the last second.
Authorities should impose stricter penalties on those who endanger animals due to their recklessness. Pet ownership is a responsibility, not a privilege, and those who fail to uphold it should face serious consequences.
