It is not hidden from anyone that it is the duty of a coach to make sure that their team becomes able to perform to the best of its abilities.
And by the look of things, Indian coach Gautam Gambhir is failing miserably at that. India’s red-ball game has been subpar for quite a while now, with Gambhir seeming clueless about solving the issues that matter.
Instead, PR posts have started going viral, showcasing Gambhir’s ‘long chats’ with bowlers like Arshdeep and Akash Deep.
Instead of these so-called long chats, it would have been much better if Gambhir had actually tried to tackle the problems in the Indian bowling unit.
Real change isn’t brought about by ‘long chats’, but by silent determination, grit, and working away from the camera.
With all eyes on coach Gambhir, it will be interesting to see if these chats finally bear some fruit to strengthen India’s pace attack in the next test match against England.
