Cricket Shocking New Rules: 2 Wickets in 1 Ball?

Cricket as a game is often considered at par with religion in India. The game also has a big presence in countries like Australia, Pakistan, and South Africa, just to name a few.

With league cricket like IPL and BBL becoming more popular day by day, it is only a matter of time before new rules are introduced to make the game more interesting.

The Big Bash League (BBL) plans to introduce some unique, never-seen-before rules in its next season.

For starters, now one ball can get two batsmen out simultaneously. This can either happen if both of them get runout, or if the striker gets caught, and the catcher manages to hit the wickets at the other end while the non-striker is out of the crease.

Apart from this, the league also plans to introduce a rule where one player can be solely introduced into the team just for the purpose of batting. This player will be exempt from the responsibilities of bowling or fielding.

The new rules also give freedom to a bowler to bowl 12 consecutive balls just from one end.

On top of that, if a batter now plays a maiden over, he will be considered out, ending his innings then and there.

While these rules will increase excitement in the game, many are worried that such radical changes will eventually find their way to ICC, ruining the very essence of cricket as we know it.

It will be interesting to see what the new dynamics these rules create as they are introduced in the next BBL season.
