Delhi Capitals have come under massive fire from the public due to the signing of Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman in the team.
While Mustafizur has nothing to do with the incident personally, his nationality has everything to do with it. His being a Bangladeshi is causing DC a lot of trouble due to Bangladesh’s open support to Pakistan during the recent India-Pakistan conflict.
While most are bashing both Mustafizur as well as DC, some have come to support the decision, claiming that cricket should be kept separate from politics.
But the masses are not buying it. This is not just a matter of politics but of national sentiments. One has to take a particular stand to guard one’s honour if the second party continues to oppose with malicious intentions.
Despite growing tensions, it looks like Mustafizur is going to play as a pacer for DC. We will have to wait and see if this decision will come to bite the franchise back in the near future.
