Young Talent Wasted Again: Another GG Special?

With the Indian team playing against England, murmurs have already started regarding what could and could not have been in terms of the playing XI.

Many on social media have raised a question mark for Gautam Gambhir on the selection of Sai Sudharsan over Abhimanyu Easwaran, despite Easwaran making many vital contributions in first-class cricket.

This major objection stems from the fact that Abhimanyu, despite scoring 27 first-class hundreds and 8000 first-class runs, has not been preferred over Sai Sudharsan for the first game.

Sai seems to be the current favourite young poster boy of classic cricket, and therefore has seemingly replaced Abhimanyu, who is left to warm the benches.

With Sarfaraz Khan already having been sent home despite a fabulous performance with India A, it will be interesting to see if choosing Sai over Abhimanyu turns out to be a blunder for GG and Gill in the near future.
