Ro-Ko Backlash: Gambhir’s PR Damage Control?

Gautam Gambhir has been one of the most firebrand-type coaches India has ever had, there is absolutely no doubt about it.

While he has been receiving huge backlash for allegedly playing a major part in the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, a section of fans is also praising him for trying to lead the team through the transition phase.

Fans have come forward to show their support for Gambhir, some writing whole paragraphs on social media, showcasing their trust in the coach.

One ‘fan’ reminded him of his valuable contributions in the 2007 T20WC and the 2011 ODI World Cup, urging him to replicate the same level of success, if not more, as a coach.

Such seems to be the trust of the fan that the internet has become suspicious about its genuineness, claiming it to be paid PR.

With such heavy responsibilities now on Gambhir’s shoulders, it would be interesting to see if he will be able to manage the perfect blend between experience and young blood to clinch victory from England at their own home turf.
