Hardik Pandya faced criticism after Mumbai Indians lost by 27 runs to Rajasthan Royals. The captain’s post-match comments triggered strong reactions from fans.
Speaking after the defeat, Hardik Pandya pointed towards the bowling unit. He stated that the loss should not be blamed on the batting side.
He said the match came down to a few key deliveries. According to him, better execution in those moments could have changed the result.
However, many fans were unhappy with his tone. They felt the captain did not take enough responsibility for the team’s overall performance.
Critics believe a captain should balance analysis with accountability. Highlighting issues is important, but sharing responsibility is equally expected in leadership.
Blaming the bowlers openly has raised concerns about team morale. Several fans expressed disappointment and questioned his leadership approach.
Calls for a change in captaincy have surfaced again among sections of supporters. The reaction reflects growing frustration after the defeat.
The Mumbai Indians will now look to move on quickly. Their focus shifts to the upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have been in strong form this season.
