The WTC Final, going on for more than 2.5 days, has been nothing less than an exciting treat for the cricket fans, who are getting to enjoy the oldest form of cricket at its very best.
While appreciation for test cricket is pouring from left, right and centre, a sense of hypocrisy is also being pointed out by a section of Indians regarding test matches in SENA countries versus India.
Many have come forward to say that if a test game gets prolonged like this in a SENA country, people praise it by calling it a ‘win for test cricket’.
However, when the same thing happens in India, the very same people are the first ones to say that India has prepared ‘landmines’, i.e., overly spin-friendly pitches.
These people, rather than rejoicing in the victory of test cricket in the same manner, claim that it doesn’t represent true cricket at all!
This clearly represents hypocrisy at the highest level possible. If we want to enjoy cricket as a whole, we can’t choose to be selective about it by changing our opinions based on the nation involved.
