India Out of Asia Cup 2025: Masterplan or Blunder?

India’s war against terrorism, and our nosy neighbour, Pakistan, have led to some serious international decisions being taken when it comes to cricket.

Recently, reports have started to pour in, claiming that the BCCI has decided to stay away from the upcoming Asia Cup scheduled for late 2025.

While many have opposed this decision, asking for the need for India to boycott the tournament when the BCCI can use its power and muscle to bend the other boards into boycotting Pakistan out of the ICC.

However, others have claimed it to be a masterstroke. Many believe that such a move would lead to other boards pleading with the BCCI to rejoin, which in turn would lead to the BCCI putting forth its demands for the expulsion of Pakistan from the ICC, or at least the ACC.

While this is definitely sensational news, it is also being reported that the BCCI has come forward to refute such claims, saying that they haven’t thought that far ahead.

We will have to wait and see the board’s decision when it comes to prioritising the nation over cricket in the near future.
