India @ WC: 1 Big Worry, 1 Big Positive

Team India has started off its World Cup campaign on a very positive note with the men in blue winning their opening two games against Ireland and Pakistan respectively. If we take a look at the campaign thus far, there is one big worry and one major positive for the side.

The worry is the lackluster form of Virat Kohli who got out cheaply in both the games he has played thus far. For now, the team is managing to win without his contributions. But while playing against elite sides like Australia and South Africa, Kohli will turn key.

The batting depth as well, including the likes of Jadeja and Shivam Dubey are proving to be worthless. This must change quickly if the men in blue are to have a shot at the World Cup trophy.

The major positive thus far has been the rampant bowling attack led by Bumrah who has been virtually unplayable in the first two games. Though Hardik is leaking runs, he is picking up wickets at key intervals, much to everyone’s delight.

India must tick the middle order box if they are to progress further ahead in the tournament. The fielding and the top order have been largely successful thus far.
