Asia Cup has constantly found itself in the middle of controversies and debates, especially after Pakistan’s cowardly attack on Indian tourists in Kashmir.
While there were rumours of BCCI either boycotting the Asia Cup of 2025 or using its dominance to arm-twist Pakistan into opting out themselves.
But the recently released list of teams indicates that a total of 8 countries will be playing the Asia Cup of 2025. These would be Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.
This means that the BCCI has yet again decided to sideline national interests in favour of conducting matches against Pakistan, much to the outrage of both the common public as well as ICT fans.
With the tournament set to begin in September 2025, it will be interesting to see if the immense public pressure can alter the decision in any way to ensure that India and its stance stand supreme above all else.
