RCB Abandoned: Huge Downfall After Championship?

Diageo Plc, the owner of Royal Challengers Bengaluru has shocked everyone because of a subtle hint at the organisation’s inclination towards selling the franchise.

If current statistics are to be believed, RCB is currently valued at about 2 Billion USD, making it one of the most valuable franchises in the IPL.

The RCB brand achieved its peak after winning this year’s IPL. But it all soon went to trash after the tragic loss of lives in the stampede occurring outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium due to heavy negligence both on the part of the authorities as well as the RCB management.

With the team now facing a potential 1-year ban, as well as rumours of Virat retiring soon, it seems that the owners think it to be the right time to get their hands off of the franchise, which they clearly consider a burden.

With speculation at an all-time high, it will be interesting to see if the owners really want to go ahead with this decision of theirs to make RCB someone else’s burden, at least according to them.
