Rohit Sharma was out for a duck in Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Uttarakhand at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. He was dismissed on the first ball he faced, and the crowd reacted instantly with shock.
Fans leave the stadium after Rohit’s dismissal
Rohit attempted a pull shot but mistimed it, and Devendra Bora claimed his wicket for Uttarakhand. A large number of spectators had come only to watch Rohit bat. Once he got out, fans began leaving the stadium within minutes.
Recent form increased expectations
Rohit’s 155 against Sikkim in the previous match had boosted hopes for another big score. The pitch looked good for batting, but the early wicket changed the situation. Uttarakhand captain Kunal Chandela had won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Rohit’s cricket schedule in question
Rohit’s form in 2025 has been decent in international cricket. He performed well in ODIs against Australia and South Africa after retiring from Test cricket earlier this year. It is not confirmed if he will play more Vijay Hazare Trophy matches.
Upcoming India commitments
The BCCI allows players to play only two domestic games, and this may have been his last for Mumbai this season. Rohit is expected to return for India’s ODI series against New Zealand starting January 11.
