With this triumph, Rohit Sharma made history, becoming the Indian captain with the most T20I wins—42*—surpassing MS Dhoni’s record of 41 wins.

Additionally, Sharma completed 300 international cricket wins as a player, becoming the third Indian to achieve this milestone after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

– Ireland’s Innings: Hardik Pandya’s impressive bowling figures of 3-27 helped restrict Ireland to 96 all out, with 24 balls left. Gareth Delany top-scored with 26 runs off 14 balls, while Jasprit Bumrah delivered an economical spell with 2-6.

– India’s Chase: Despite Virat Kohli’s early dismissal, Rohit Sharma led the chase with a brilliant half-century, adapting well to the difficult conditions. He also surpassed 4,000 runs in T20 internationals and 1,000 in World Cups during the match. Rohit retired hurt on 52 due to a shoulder injury.

Rishabh Pant played a crucial role, remaining unbeaten on 36. He sealed the victory with a spectacular reverse ramp six, delighting the 20,604 Indian fans in the stadium.

India’s next match is a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan on Sunday. Meanwhile, Ireland will look to secure their first win against Canada on Friday.
