Team India made a successful start to their T20 World Cup campaign with an emphatic win over Ireland. On the other hand, India neighbouring nation, Pakistan made a horror start as they lost their opening game to USA.
But what can be noted from the opening games of the tournament is that India must be careful with the pitches.
Firstly, the game between India and Ireland was played in a dangerous pitch. The ball was bouncing around madly and the likes of Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant got injured with these deliveries.
The pitch in the Pakistan vs US game was also poor in cricketing terms. It was very conducive to swing bowling in the first innings and got much easier to bat on as the day progressed.
India will next be facing Pakistan in their upcoming game of the tournament which is on the 9th of this month.
The Indian players got used to the batting friendly pitches in the IPL and they will be more accustomed to strokeplay game. Getting used to the tacky pitches in the USA and West Indies will take some doing.
