Vansh Bedi Denies Match-Fixing Claims

Former Chennai Super Kings wicketkeeper batter Vansh Bedi has broken his silence after his name was linked on social media to the ongoing match fixing controversy.

Vansh Bedi has strongly denied being the player referred to by former Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia in a Tehelka sting operation involving alleged match fixing and a CSK player.

I categorically state that I am not the individual referred to by Ex-Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia in the Tehelka sting operation concerning alleged match fixing involving a CSK player,” Bedi said in on Instagram.

The wicketkeeper batter also denied having any involvement in match fixing or any related activity. He called the content linking him to the allegations false and defamatory.

Vansh Bedi further said his legal team has started appropriate civil and criminal action against those responsible for the content. He also asked people not to create or share such claims against him.

The controversy comes after reports about a Tehelka sting in which Bhatia allegedly claimed access to confidential information involving IPL and DPL matches.

However, the Delhi & District Cricket Association has said the allegations arising from the sting are unverified and have not been established by any competent authority.

Interestingly, Bedi himself was reported to have flagged a separate alleged fixing approach during the Delhi Premier League to the DDCA’s Anti-Corruption Wing.

DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma said the approach was made by a player from Uttar Pradesh who was also playing in a T20 league there.

The DDCA has also written to the BCCI seeking guidance on the matter. The association has said it would be inappropriate to draw conclusions about any player, individual or franchise based only on unverified allegations.

Vansh Bedi was part of the CSK setup in IPL 2025 and played for Central Delhi Kings in the latest Delhi Premier League season.

He has now made it clear that he wants his name kept separate from the allegations while the matter goes through the appropriate process.
