Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli have bought a 5.1 acre land parcel in Alibaug for Rs 37.86 crore. As you track celebrity investments, this deal stands out for its scale and location in Zirad village.
Deal details and registration
The land was purchased from Sonali Amit Rajput, director at Samira Land Assets Pvt. Ltd. The deal includes two adjoining plots and was officially registered on January 13.
Stamp duty and documentation
The couple paid stamp duty of around Rs 2.27 crore for the transaction. Virat Kohli’s brother, Vikas Kohli, completed the registration and handled all paperwork on their behalf.
Second big Alibaug investment
This is not their first major investment in Alibaug. In 2022, they bought nearly eight acres for Rs 19.24 crore and later built a private vacation home on that land.
Alibaug attracts celebrities
Several celebrities have invested in Alibaug over the years. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh bought a bungalow in Mapgaon for Rs 22 crore in 2021.

Suhana Khan purchased 1.5 acres in Thal village in 2023 for Rs 12.91 crore. Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma also bought four acres in 2021 under his wife Ritika Sajdeh’s name.
The couple’s current stay
At present, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are living in London. Their stay is mainly linked to security concerns rather than a permanent relocation.
