Hero to Target: Indian Legend Unprofessional?

A viral post on X has triggered fresh debate around Virender Sehwag. The post claims he did not teach David Miller how to play spin during his time with Punjab Kings. Soon after, several fans labelled the Indian legend as unprofessional.

The viral content quoted Sehwag as saying that when he was mentoring Punjab, Miller had asked him for help against off spin. It further suggested that Sehwag avoided guiding him because South Africa had a series against India. This claim quickly gained traction online.

However, the full video from the 2025 IPL season presents a different picture. Sehwag made those remarks while working as an analyst after Punjab’s match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The context appears broader than what the viral post suggested.

In the clip, Sehwag spoke about overseas players and their mindset. He mentioned Miller asking for practice against spin. But he did not clearly state that he deliberately refused to help him.

Sehwag was more critical of Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone. He questioned their hunger and said some foreign players treat the IPL like a holiday. His comments were directed at overall approach rather than one specific incident.

The viral post seems to have framed the comment in a misleading way. There is no confirmed proof that Sehwag admitted to denying assistance to Miller. At present, the outrage appears driven more by interpretation than verified facts.
