Ban on YouTubers: Kollywood Insulting Audiences?

Suriya’s most anticipated Kanguva movie, which was released a few days ago, ended up as an ultra disaster. Many audiences who watched the movie on the first day first show bashed the movie with negative reviews, which impacted the bookings of the movie for the next day.

Many people, even Suriya’s wife, Jyothika, have raised their voices that negative reviews and public reviews posted on YouTube channels were the major reason for the loss of the Kanguva movie, and they were doing it purposely for every Suriya movie.

In this scenario, now the Producers Council has shared a letter to the public in which they have mentioned that theatre owners should not allow YouTube channels to enter their premises and also should not allow them to take reviews from the audience.

Also, they have mentioned that public reviews posted by the YouTube channels were the major reason for the loss of movies such as Indian 2, Vettaiyan, and the recently released Kanguva movie, and they also have condemned the personal attack in the name of reviews from the public.

This has started the commotion now; while many people support this, some people shared negative feedback for this, that the production houses were not concentrating on taking good movies and restricting audiences to voice out.

Also, if the movie is good, it will bring audiences to theaters despite paid negative reviews; if the movie is not good, then even without Public reviews, it won’t have a good theatrical run, says the Kollywood audience on social media.
