Baththa OTT Release: Will Audience Regret Once Again?

Vijay Sethupathi’s Baththa directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and produced by Atlee, was released in theatres on 1st October and received overwhelmingly positive responses from the audience.

Many viewers, after watching Baththa, have claimed that it is one of the best feel-good films released in Kollywood in recent times and child artist Master Sai Prithviraj deserves a National Award for his performance in the film.

Despite the super positive response, due to poor promotions and buzz, Baththa failed to perform well at the box office and completed its theatrical run with an average status.

Following its average theatrical run, Baththa is now all set to stream on Netflix with a 4 week OTT window starting from October 29th in five languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

In response to the OTT release update of Baththa, many Kollywood audiences on social media are stating that people who missed celebrating this gem of a film in theatres are going to regret it after watching it on OTT.

They suggest that Baththa will bring Vijay Sethupathi huge recognition after its OTT release and claim that Baththa deserved massive box office success, but the audience failed to celebrate it in theatres.

Meanwhile, sometimes movies that receive super positive responses from theatrical audiences end up getting an overrated tag after their OTT release.

Hence, it remains to be seen whether Baththa will satisfy the expectations of the OTT audience and emerge as a blockbuster success or get tagged as overrated upon its release on October 29th.
