Jailer 2 Runtime And Deleted Footage Rumour
Rajinikanth’s most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th as a Dussehra special.
Since the announcement, Jailer 2 has carried massive expectations among audiences and many people believe that Jailer 2 will emerge as an industry hit and achieve 1000 crores at the box office.
In this scenario, the censor process of Jailer 2 was recently completed and reportedly the film has received a U/A certification. Furthermore, there is also information that the runtime of Jailer 2 is around 2 hours and 45 minutes.
While the original Jailer’s runtime was 2 hours and 44 minutes, the sequel is just 1 minute longer. Consequently, many people claim that Nelson Dilipkumar has cracked a proper runtime for this biggie.
Because Jailer 2 was made with a huge cast and many star performers from different industries were part of it, initially many people were worried about Jailer 2’s runtime. They felt that every star actor should have good scope to perform in the film; otherwise, their fans would be highly disappointed. Subsequently, they were afraid whether the runtime of Jailer 2 would cross the 3 hours runtime and end up as a huge risk.
However, surprisingly, despite all these concerns, Nelson Dilipkumar somehow managed to keep the runtime almost equal to the original Jailer.
Meanwhile, some people on social media have started spreading rumours that just to keep the film to a 2 hour and 45 minute runtime, Nelson Dilipkumar has chopped off almost 1 hour and 30 minutes of footage from the first cut.
Therefore, they claim that even though Nelson Dilipkumar’s intention to keep the runtime as crisp as possible was good, chopping off almost 1 hour and 30 minutes of footage might cause some scenes to end up without proper setup or context.
Hence, they feel Nelson Dilipkumar should have planned it earlier during the scripting stage itself, rather than chopping off footage on the editing table, as they feel it is a waste of money and might also affect the film’s core screenplay.
On the other hand, in response to these rumours, some Kollywood insiders note that all these rumours are fake and only a few sequences were removed from the first cut.
Ultimately, all of these are just social media speculations and no official sources have confirmed this news yet. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Jailer 2, with a runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes, will engage audiences throughout and emerge as a blockbuster success upon its release on October 15th.
