NTR-Vetrimaaran Combo: Not Exciting Anymore?

N. T. Rama Rao Jr.’s Devara is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on September 27th. As part of the pre-release promotion, the Devara team conducted a meeting in Chennai. In which NTR’s had mentioned that he wants to work with Vetrimaaran sir in a direct Tamil film.

After that event, the Press asked a question to Vetrimaaran while he attended a different meeting: When will you direct a movie with NTR? And for that, Vetrimaaran replied that it was already planned but due to some reasons it didn’t take off, and once he completes his commitments, he may take off the project. This was the talk of the town for the past few days.

Previously, a few months ago, there was a strong buzz revolving around social media that Vetri Maaran was going to direct a film with NTR and Dhanush, but later, due to some reasons, it got shelved.

Now, after this reply from Vetri Maaran, many audiences were mentioning that although Vetri Maaran is a great director, most of his movies have only been appreciated by a limited number of audiences.

A big star joining hands with critically acclaimed directors may end up like Kaala and Kabali, in which Pa Ranjith failed to impress the audience’s expectations with Rajinikanth. Similarly, NTR joining hands with Vetrimaaran may turn into a backfire for him.

If the movie happens, for sure, NTR will have a good scope for his performance, but the movie may end up as a box office failure or an average one. NTR must think twice before accepting such films, say the audiences.
