The shooting of Karthi’s much-anticipated sequel Sardar 2, directed by P. S. Mithran, is now in its final stages, with the team aiming for a June release.
Initially, the makers announced Yuvan Shankar Raja as the music composer, but according to the latest buzz, Yuvan has been removed from the project, and Sam CS has taken over.
For Sardar, Yuvan composed the soundtrack, but none of the songs became hits, and the background score also failed to leave a mark.
Following this, social media users claimed that Yuvan is not in top form anymore, and many welcomed the decision to bring in Sam CS, who previously delivered an impactful score for Karthi’s Kaithi.
The Sardar 2 team has officially announced that the prologue of the film will be released today, and it’s expected that Sam CS’s involvement will be confirmed in this reveal.
Meanwhile, there is ongoing debate in Kollywood about the so-called “sequel curse,” as most Tamil sequels—including the recently released Viduthalai 2—have ended up as disappointments. It remains to be seen whether Sardar 2 can break this trend and emerge as a blockbuster.
