Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir became extremely popular after the massive success of Manjummel Boys. His next film, Pravinkoodu Shappu, is all set to release tomorrow.
The film is carrying a solid buzz also because it stars Basil Joseph, who became famous due to the popularity of films like Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya He and Sookshmadarshini.
The film is expected to have a strong opening, but the task ahead is tough.
It faces stiff competition from Asif Ali’s Rekhachithram, which is currently dominating the Kerala box office, and will need stellar word-of-mouth to replicate the success of Manjummel Boys.
Given Keralites’ preference for high-quality content, Pravinkoodu Shappu must impress both critics and audiences.
The film, directed by Sreeraj Sreenivasan, is a closed-room murder mystery thriller and features a strong ensemble cast including Basil Joseph, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Revathi.
If it generates positive buzz and sustains interest, it could have a successful run, but it will need to deliver a gripping experience to match the expectations set by Soubin Shahir’s previous hit Manjummel Boys.
