Suriya’s highly anticipated Karuppu teaser dropped today and has become the talk of the town as it showcases his commercial mass appeal after a long time.
Following the teaser’s release, there is a strong speculation that the Karuppu story was initially written for Vijay. Reportedly, when RJ Balaji narrated it to Vijay, the actor initially gave a green signal, but due to some political reasons, he didn’t take on the project.
After Vijay’s decision, RJ Balaji reportedly made some changes to the script and planned to direct the same story as a female-centric movie titled Masani Amman, with Trisha Krishnan in the lead. However, for various reasons, that project also didn’t materialize.
Finally, when RJ Balaji had the opportunity to narrate a story to Suriya, he narrated the original version of the same story he had written for Vijay. Suriya reportedly agreed to play the lead, and that’s how the Karuppu movie began.
The Karuppu’s teaser, released today, is receiving mixed responses, but despite the mixed reviews, it has boosted the much-needed buzz for the film.
