Suriya’s Scene: Three 200 Crore Hits in a Year?

Following the back to back commercial success of Karuppu and Vishwanath and Sons, Suriya is all set to return with his third release of the year, which is Scene directed by Jithu Madhavan and it is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6th as a Diwali special.

With only a few days left until the release, fans of Suriya are eagerly waiting for the film with the belief that Scene will also emerge as a massive commercial success, helping Suriya achieve the rare record of an actor delivering a hat-trick of 200-crore grossing films in a single year.

Suriya‘s first release of the year was Karuppu. Despite mixed reviews from critics, its commercial elements connected well with the general audience. Consequently, it went on a rampage at the box office and collected more than 300 crores worldwide. It also helped Suriya make a massive comeback.

He maintained the momentum gained through the massive success of Karuppu with his next film, Vishwanath and Sons. Even though it received mixed responses from both audiences and critics, it also performed well at the box office and collected more than 200 crores worldwide.

While most top actors nowadays deliver only one or two films every year, Suriya has already delivered two films this year and now his third release, Scene, is nearing its theatrical release.

Since Scene is Jithu Madhavan’s immediate next film after the massive success of Aavesham and Suriya is currently on a winning streak, Scene has carried huge expectations among audiences since its announcement.

Therefore, if the content clicks, Scene has a strong chance of collecting more than 200 crores worldwide and helping Suriya achieve the rare record of an actor with three 200 crore grossers in the same year.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Scene will satisfy the expectations of the audience and emerge as a blockbuster success, helping Suriya achieve this rare record upon its release on November 6th.
