Karthi’s much-awaited film Vaa Vaathiyaar, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, was finally set for a worldwide theatrical release tomorrow after several postponements. Ticket bookings were moving fast, and fans expected the film to hit screens without further delays.
However, strong speculation now suggests that the Madras High Court has stayed the release of Vaa Vaathiyaar and its Telugu version Annagaru Vostaru until pending dues are cleared. If this holds true, the film will not release tomorrow and may be postponed once again.
A few days earlier, reports stated that investor Arjunlal Sundardas had filed a case demanding repayment of 21.78 crores before the film’s release. Following this, the court issued an interim stay. Many assumed the issue was resolved after the trailer launch and the audio function in Chennai, but the latest buzz indicates otherwise.
This new development has left fans confused and disappointed. Some viewers criticised KE Gnanavel Raja, saying the repeated delays have already affected the film’s hype. They feel that another postponement could reduce audience interest even further.
Whether KE Gnanavel Raja settles the outstanding dues in time or the release is pushed to a new date is something only the coming hours will reveal. For now, Vaa Vaathiyaar’s release remains uncertain.
