Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Posters: Nightmare for Fans

The first look poster of Thalapathy Vijay’s 69th film was released in the morning, followed by a second poster in the evening.

Both the posters are getting brutally trolled. Even fans are finding it artificial and not so appealing.

Vijay, who recently launched his political party, is aiming to use this film as his political vehicle.

Since then, Vijay has been getting trolled on social media. Some made references to the iconic scene from Enga Veetu Pillai, where MGR holds a whiplash and corrects people.

They jokingly wondered if Vijay was going to use the lash to “fix” corrupt politicians or even poke fun at himself.

Other netizens have shared comedic videos to further troll Vijay.

Some compared him to BJP leader Annamalai who made a mockery of himself recently using a lash on himself.

While blending politics with entertainment could work, an overtly political message may alienate audiences, who primarily seek entertainment in cinemas.

People don’t want to see a 3-hour political campaign in the name of cinema.

The poster received criticism for lacking the usual film appeal, and the title Jana Nayagan (People’s Leader) raised concerns about promoting Vijay’s political ambitions through the film.

Fans were expecting a commercial entertainer, not a political satire.
