The future might not be that far. In any sci-fi movie, the depiction of flying cars is a must. And realistically we do have flying car equivalents, called “Helicopters”. And now the availability of high-end futuristic flying taxis is not a distant future for India.
Indigo’s parent company ‘InterGlobe’ enterprises, is planning to launch an all-electric air taxi by the year 2026 in India. To travel from Connaught Place (Delhi) to Gurugram (Haryana) it will cost 2000 to 3000 rupees. And services at a similar rate will be available throughout Mumbai and Bangalore. This futuristic mode of travel will save an enormous amount of time and also be a huge help in emergency cases.
The vehicle will be able to accommodate 4 passengers and one pilot. It will run on similar technology to a helicopter but all-electric, hence less noisy and it’s being developed as a safer option for passengers. From Delhi to Haryana, which is approximately 27 km of travel distance, will be covered in just a mere 7 mins via this Air Taxi service.
It is reported that InterGlobe’s partner Archer Aviation will supply 200 electric air vehicles for this service which will be available in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
