To make AI more accessible and integrate it with the day-to-day lives of everyone, tech firms are ready to invest to develop AI models in local Indian languages i.e. Large Language Models (LLM).
LLMs will help to interpret and archive the data that has been available only in one of the local languages. It will also improve the participation of locals in the drive for developing the nation, from education to agriculture and health, AI models in local languages would assist services in countless ways.
This move will not only make things easier for the people directly benefitting from the AI models but it will bridge the gap in AI investment and development which is mostly limited to the US, China and a few other countries.
The sooner India accepts AI as the future and allows government investment in the technology, the better it will be to regulate AI later on and reduce the impact the US and China have on the tech.
