Apple Eliminates iPhone Notch

Apple is taking innovation to the next level with its plans to create a truly edge-to-edge, notch-less display for future iPhones. To achieve this ambitious goal, the tech giant is collaborating with display powerhouses Samsung and LG, who are known for their prowess in OLED technology.

Unlike some of its Android competitors, Apple is opting to maintain a flat display rather than a curved one. This design choice, while aesthetically pleasing, may pose challenges, as the phone’s bezel-less appearance could lead to accidental touches when held.

To achieve the seamless display, Apple intends to integrate the camera and essential sensors beneath the screen, similar to Samsung’s approach with the Galaxy Z Fold 4. This entails overcoming obstacles in thin film encapsulation and under-panel camera technologies, both of which are critical for protecting the OLED from moisture and oxygen.

While bezel-less smartphones have been showcased in the past, they haven’t become mainstream in commercial products. Nevertheless, Apple’s move in this direction could change the game for the smartphone industry.

As for when we can expect this futuristic iPhone, it’s still uncertain. Experts speculate that it might take Apple around a year to implement this design. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series, rumored to be unveiled this September, boasting a dynamic island notch that adjusts its size based on notifications.
