Indian Railways! A Lesson To The World!

Since 2014, Indian railway invested over ₹46,425 crore in electrification of the railways. As it will reduce the use of natural fossil fuel, and as per the newest report the total broad gauge network of the railways will be completely electrified within next few months.

An interim budget of more ₹6,500 crore is provided for the ongoing electrification projects. This process of electrification is going to put Indian Railways on the highest rank, to become the world’s largest environmentally friendly rail system.

Although many areas in India have already achieved full electrification of the system. An officer of Indian railways said that India is adamant to finish the electrification within the fiscal year of 2025, along with the given fund of ₹6,500 crore.

As of December of 2023, the Indian Railways had 10,238 electric and 4,543 diesel locomotives, within this year the routes like Ahmedabad-Rajkot-Okha and Bathinda-Firozpur-Jalandhar are going to be electrified.

This is a global lesson every railway agency should learn, because this take of electrification is going to reduce carbon emission by 24% within 2027-28. In comparison with European railways, Indian railways are way ahead in electrification.

This is a very bold and good move, taken by the railway authorities as this move is going to save carbon consumption and also it is going to save natural fuels (fossil fuel).
