The Indian government has introduced another initiative to promote electric vehicles in the country to support its share for sustainable development.
The Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 (EMPS 2024) scheme has been introduced to motivate people to buy more electric vehicles.
The scheme will allocate ₹500 crore via different quotas to the buyers of e-vehicles. Two-wheeler buyers will recieve a sum of ₹10,000 as a support from the government. The government has aimed to support around 3.33 lakh two-wheelers.
Small three-wheelers will recieve a sum of ₹25,000 while ₹50,000 will be given for large three wheelers.
EMPS 2024 is a fund limited scheme that will be applicable for four months from April to July. It will be applicable only to two and three wheeler vehicles.
This scheme is one of the many programs that the Indian government is running to achieve a reduction in carbon emissions. Ensuring cleaner energy will help us to prevent the deleterious effects of global warming and air pollution.
