
Netflix’s official subscribers from Canada and the UK will be able to take part in this for now. They can access the games from connected TV devices and from the web.
Though this isn’t the first time Netflix tweaks their gaming fantasy, as they offered limited mobile gaming as a part of their subscription perks from November 2021. They have also capitalized on their famous franchise like Stranger Things as well. And now the addition of cloud gaming will only make it easier for everyone to access.
In a recent blog post, Mike Verdu, Netflix’s VP of Games, referred to it as a limited beta test for a small number of members in Canada and the UK. This small-scale launch, however, could be a major step forward for Netflix’s gaming goals.
For now, there are two games available: Oxenfree and Molekule’s Mining Adventure. Netflix is working on both simulation and arcade-style gaming, appealing to the complete gaming community.
As Netflix is treating it as a brunch utility, they can afford some mistakes here and there. In the field of cloud gaming, if a giant like Google can fail, anyone can have the same fate. So, their ambition is not to make a perfectly functional system but give the users a spark of fun.
