In an interesting development, social platform X, previously known as Twitter finds itself on the brink of a major upgrade that could revolutionize how users engage with video content on the platform.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, had recently teased a forthcoming feature that would allow verified users to download videos, making the anticipation for this transformative change begin.

However what adds a unique layer of twist is that the feature is designed to not only benefit the everyday users but primarily empower the creators on the platform.

Musk clarified that verified users will only be able to download videos if the content creator grants explicit permission. To access the feature, users will need to tap the icon in the upper right corner while the video is in full-screen mode further saying that they are also working towards a much easier approach, i.e allowing downloads by simply tapping and holding on a video, similar to downloading a picture.

While the upgrade promises increased flexibility for users, it also introduces a layer of control. Musk outlined that the download video setting will be automatically disabled for users under the age of 18. Additionally, videos will be set to be available for download by default unless the content creator explicitly opts out, giving them the autonomy to manage their content

Recently, Pop Base, a popular X handle announced a new addition to Twitter’s capabilities which is that soon, users can expect the ability to download videos directly from Direct Messages (DMs).

Currently, X users have been resorting to various extensions available on the web and third-party mobile apps to save videos from the platform. The upcoming feature aims to streamline communication on Twitter, making it even more user-friendly.
