Now You Can Report AI Content At YouTube

Tuesday morning saw YouTube making a significant decision in which it announced that they will soon be allowing users to request AI-created impostors to be removed from the platform along with YouTube itself alerting viewers when they’re watching a video made with artificial intelligence.

This move will make it mandatory for YouTube creators to comply with new platform policies around content generated or altered with AI. The major change requires creators to inform viewers when content contains realistic AI-generated alterations or synthetic media depicting events or speech that didn’t occur which includes Deepfakes as well.

YouTube also clarified that a separate additional prominent label might be required directly on the video player when dealing with sensitive topics like elections, disasters, public officials, and conflicts.

These rules are likely to come into force within the next few months and will serve as a major step in countering the rapidly spreading scams and misinformation generated with the help of technology.

This is a brilliant initiative from the Google owned company as we’ve been witnessing numerous incidents of deepfakes and fake audios recently which not only put a fake influence on people but also bring disrespect for the personalities involved as they’re wrongly made to appear in pornographic and illicit scenes.
