An Air India passenger travelling from Bengaluru to Mumbai has alleged serious safety lapses, questioning both ground and in-flight security procedures. The traveller shared that two major violations occurred one at check-in and another mid-flight.

According to the passenger, Air India staff failed to verify their ID at the check-in counter. This breach is significant because ID verification is a mandatory aviation security step before issuing boarding passes or baggage tags. The second incident reportedly happened onboard, when two passengers in Row 16 were seen using e-cigarettes, violating India’s no-smoking policy for all commercial flights. Despite alerting the cabin crew, the whistleblower claimed no visible action was taken against the offenders.
