A journey from Seattle to Vienna on Delta Airlines turned into a travel nightmare for one passenger. What was supposed to be a smooth transatlantic trip via Paris became days of delays, cancellations, lost luggage, and mounting frustration with the airline.
Flight Delays and Cancellation
The problems began with multiple departure changes, followed by passengers being asked to deplane. Eventually, the flight was cancelled altogether. Around 280 travellers were redirected to a single help desk, forcing them to wait for hours while scrambling for new bookings.
Struggles with Rebooking and Seating
The passenger described being shifted from one middle seat to another during rebookings. Ground transport and hotel arrangements added to the chaos, leaving passengers drained. What should have been routine assistance turned into a test of patience and endurance.
Luggage Lost in Paris
The troubles did not end after the flight. The passenger’s luggage remained stuck in Paris, confirmed by air tags even days later. This added insult to injury and showed how fragile baggage handling and airline operations have become in recent years.
Reactions from Other Travellers
Fellow passengers echoed similar stories of missed shuttles, confusion, and endless waiting. Others shared their own Delta and European hub experiences, calling out shrinking service, poor communication, and declining accountability despite high ticket prices and loyalty memberships.
