M East Crisis: Travel Plans At Shamshabad Scuttled

The entire Middle East is caught up in a war situation with strikes by Iran on various US, UK bases in the Gulf. The strikes initiated by US and Israel led to the death of Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Khameini, accentuating the situation.

There are many Telugus struck in Middle East and there is no possibility of travel due to closed air space. But this has impacted the flights taking off and landing at Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad.

Flights supposed to fly to Doha, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Saudi Arabia have been cancelled. Flights going to Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat, Madina have been stopped temporarily.

22 crafts flying out of Shamshabab and 22 flights flying into Shamshabad stand cancelled. Air India, Indigo, Emirates, Qatar Airways have all cancelled their flights from and to Shamshabad.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has said asked Hyderabad flyers to cancel their trips to Middle East till the war situation is under control. Instructions have been issued to check the websites of airlines for further updates.
