A passenger has taken to the internet to express deep frustration over SpiceJet’s handling of a Varanasi to Ahmedabad flight, booked for visiting NRI relatives.
According to the complaint, the airline cancelled the flight without any message, email, or notification to the passengers. The individual said they had to make multiple attempts just to confirm the cancellation, as SpiceJet’s website kept crashing or lagging.
The real ordeal began when they tried contacting customer service. The user claims to have called three times, only to have the calls disconnected each time without any help or explanation. No alternative arrangements were offered and no apology was given.
Adding to the confusion, the refund section of the website showed that the refund was “initiated” but displayed only a dash where the refund amount should have been. This lack of transparency left the passenger unsure whether any money would actually be returned.
Calling the experience unprofessional and disrespectful, the passenger stated that they would never trust the airline again. They also warned others not to rely on SpiceJet if they value their time or peace of mind.
The incident underscores ongoing concerns with domestic budget airlines in India, where communication gaps and customer service breakdowns often add to the stress of disrupted travel.
While delays and cancellations can happen, the absence of clear information and proper support reflects a troubling lack of accountability.
SpiceJet has not responded publicly to the complaint at the time of writing.
