10,300 Indian Illegal Entrants Caught At US Border

In the period between January and May, 10,300 Indian illegal immigrants were caught at the US border. Of them 30 were minors with no adults with them.

Most of those caught were from the state of Gujarat. The information was revealed by Customs and Border protection department of US. However, the figures are 70% less than last year when 34,535 Indians were caught during the same period.

Daily on an average, 67 Indians are being caught now. After realizing that Harris wouldn’t come to power, the human trafficking gangs reduced their activities drastically.

Also, due to strict laws following Trump’s victory, the number of illegal entrants reduced drastically. By April 2024, the US Department of Homeland Security had announced that there were 2.2 lakh Indians living on US soil without papers. Of them, 332 Indians were sent back in January, 2025.

Indians try to enter the US illegally through dangerous routes. Due to heavy security and giant wall on the border, they even try to enter by sea. On May 9, a boat capsized near Del Mar, California killing two minors who were brother and sister.

Usually such boats start from Mexico border and enter the US waters.
