After USA, Singapore Ready For Indian President

Indians live in almost all the countries in the world. So, there is little doubt when an Indian descendent rises through the ranks for the highest post.

The latest addition to the list is Singaporean Presidential candidate Tharman Shanmugaratnam, a former cabinet minister (2019-23) and former deputy PM (2011-19).

An economist by profession, Tharman would contest for the highest political post in the country on September 1 in a three way contest. If he wins the election, he will be the ninth President of the country.

On the other side of the world, Vivek Ramaswamy has been trying to become the most powerful person in the US and get a stay at the White House.

Rishi Sunak, another statesman of Indian origin, is already the head of the British government.

Tharman’s fate will be decided by 2.7 million voters. Out of which 75% belong to the Chinese descent, 13.5% are Malays and 9% belong to the Indian descent.
