The State Bank Of India is launching a new digital service that allows Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to open Non-Resident External (NRE) and Non-Resident Ordinary (NRO) accounts through their YONO app.
This will fulfill the long-standing demand of NRIs for a simpler system.
The bank has leveraged technology to create a smooth, digital process for opening accounts, ensuring efficiency and precision. This makes it a convenient hub for fulfilling all the banking requirements of NRIs, enhancing their user experience.
In addition to the streamlined banking process, it will also simplify the application process as applicants can now track it through the app.
Nitin Chugh, the Deputy Managing Director and Head, emphasized that SBI has consistently led in innovation and customer-centric solutions. He also highlighted that the latest offering, the digital service, enables NRIs to open their NRE/NRO accounts from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for an in-person visit to India.
