The U.S. Department of State estimates that between 15,000 to 18,500 individuals are trafficked into the United States annually for bonded or forced labor, highlighting the alarming growth of this issue.
Recently, a disturbing discovery unfolded when four individuals of Telugu origin were arrested for human and labor trafficking.
On March 13, 2024, Princeton Police Officers responded to a welfare concern at a residence on Ginsburg Lane in Princeton, Texas leading to a shocking revelation.
Detectives from the Princeton Police CID executed a search warrant at Santhosh Katkoori’s residence, uncovering 15 adult females who were found to be exploited for labor by Santhosh and his wife, Dwaraka Gunda, through various shell companies they controlled, spanning multiple locations in Princeton, Melissa, and McKinney.
During the search, officers seized multiple laptops, cell phones, printers, and fraudulent documents.
Further investigations revealed the involvement of adult males in similar forced labor activities, prompting additional searches across different locations where more electronics and documents were confiscated.
Arrest warrants have been issued for the following persons on the charges of human and labor, a second-degree Felony:
– Chandan Dasireddy, 24, of Melissa, TX
– Dwaraka Gunda, 31, of Melissa, TX
– Santhosh Katkoori, 31, of Melissa, TX
– Anil Male, 37, of Prosper, TX
The Princeton Police Department pledges all victims receive the necessary support and ensures to prevent future trafficking operations.
