F-1 Chaos: Phantom Visa Slots Haunt Indian Students

It’s F-1 visa season as a new US academic year is just around the corner. While the visa appointments have resumed for the whole world, Indian students are being haunted by “phantom” slots.

Social media is flooded with posts claiming new appointment dates have opened, only for users to discover it was all a glitch. OFC slots (for biometrics) show up, people book them in a panic, but the consular appointment never appears.

Users wait for hours, refreshing their page, and then get locked out for trying too often. These slots even appear for a few minutes on tracking sites like visaslots.info.

While it gets students hopeful, when they check the official portal, there is nothing. The embassy, as usual, offers no clarity.

In the middle of this visa freeze and social media vetting madness, these ghost slots are adding fuel to the fire. Indian Students are wasting days chasing illusions, while their college deadlines close in.
