F-1 Student Trapped and Cheated by Top US College?

Imagine getting your dream course in the US, transferring your visa, paying the deposit, and then being told that your major has changed. That’s exactly what one F-1 student claims happened at Arizona State University (ASU).

They were admitted to the prestigious Business Data Analytics program at ASU’s Tempe campus. The official letter clearly said “admitted to your first-choice major.” So, they did what any excited student would do: accepted the offer, paid up, and even moved their SEVIS visa record from their current US college.

Then, out of nowhere, came the shock. ASU allegedly sent a new email saying the student “didn’t meet program-specific requirements” and had been dumped into a completely different major, not even at the same campus.

The student feels cheated. They had strong test scores on the SAT and TOEFL, and only a slightly low GPA from their previous university. Yet no one raised a red flag until after the visa was transferred.

Now they’re stuck as the SEVIS transfer is done and the deposit is paid. The student says they’ll escalate to higher authorities within ASU. But the damage may already be done.
